This situation prompted Antonova to depict the challenges of homeless life in a series titled "A Travelogue from a Hot Planet."
Heartbreaking Images of Homeless Life
In this series, Antonova portrays the homeless in states of despair and hopelessness. She says, "The heat wave made the situation much worse. Usually, winter is the hardest season for the homeless, but now we are facing a situation where both summer and winter are extremely terrible." In her works, she shows the homeless in states of sadness and depression, lying on the sidewalks.

The Impact of Climate Change on Daily Life
Antonova, who immigrated from Russia to France four years ago, has faced harsh living and psychological conditions during her life in Paris. She is deeply affected by the pain and suffering of the homeless and feels powerless about it. While in winter, extra blankets can help the homeless, in summer, lowering temperatures in extreme heat presents a different challenge. She says, "You bring them water and ice, but it's never enough."
In Antonova's works, the color yellow is used as a sharp and intense color representing the aggression and danger posed by the intense sunlight. She adds, "This year, the sun was very different and dangerous for everything." She also references the widespread wildfires that have occurred in various parts of France and Europe.
The series "A Travelogue from a Hot Planet" examines the reality of daily life when climate change is no longer presented as future predictions but as current conditions. Antonova states, "These paintings are observations of a future that has already arrived." Given the challenges of life in hot summers, she believes this heat wave may deter visitors from the famous tourist attractions of Paris.
