Details of the Disappearance

Goodwin went missing on September 5 in Yelm, which is about a 40-minute drive southwest of Tacoma. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a gray jacket and blue pants, typically worn by Confederate soldiers, and was holding a Civil War-era rifle. He was last seen walking along George Road.

Finding Goodwin

Yelm police announced on Saturday that Goodwin had been found and they were assessing his condition. Brian Richardson, the public information officer for the Yelm Fire Department, told a local media outlet that a passerby on a motorcycle heard Goodwin's voice calling for help and contacted emergency number 911. When responders arrived, they found Goodwin still wearing his Civil War reenactor outfit.

His farm in Yelm hosted an event over the Labor Day weekend that was described as "the largest Civil War reenactment event in the Pacific Northwest." Goodwin had been camping at the event with a family member. He reportedly left his wallet and keys at the location where he went missing.

In a post on a local blog, it was mentioned that Goodwin was last seen feeling unwell in the area and never returned to his tent. It was also noted that he has some medical issues.

Goodwin's Health Status

The Washington State Police had warned that Goodwin was facing a serious health and safety threat. Captain Chris Davis of the Yelm Police Department told the Tacoma News Tribune that he was found Friday night about half a mile from where he was last seen, in an area with dense vegetation.

Davis added, "He seemed to be in very good spirits. We are glad that he is okay after spending six days outdoors." He also said that Goodwin was dehydrated but showed no signs of serious injury. It is still unclear how he went missing or what he did during his days of disappearance.

Davis stated, "He seemed a bit disoriented and didn't talk much about how he got back to his location. My assumption is that he was just walking around."
