Sweden is witnessing major changes in its political landscape following the national elections. According to the Swedish Election Authority, the opposition parties succeeded in winning 176 seats in the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) in the elections held on Sunday. In contrast, the four parties supporting the current conservative government obtained only 173 seats. Prime Minister Stenton immediately announced his decision to resign in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament after the final results were declared. Challenges in Forming a New Government
Magdalena Andersson now faces numerous challenges in forming a new government. Tensions and disputes within the left-wing bloc may hinder the establishment of a stable government. The Center Party, which has shifted left due to its unwillingness to cooperate with the Sweden Democrats, is also reluctant to form a government with the Left Party.
