The Paris court on Tuesday awarded Kim Kardashian, as a victim of an armed robbery in the French capital in 2016, 1 euro (1.15 dollars) in damages. This amount corresponds to the compensation that Kardashian had requested, according to a lawyer who was present in the case.
Kardashian's Terrifying Experience
Kardashian has been trying to return to her normal life since the court sentenced eight people last year for their roles in the robbery. She described the incident as "the most terrifying experience of my life."

Other Damages
The court awarded a former receptionist of the Hotel de Portals 109,516 euros (126,472 dollars) in damages. This receptionist was present at the hotel during the robbery, where Kardashian was staying. She suffered psychological trauma from the jewelry theft on October 2, 2016, which coincided with Paris Fashion Week, and had requested 550,000 euros (634,868 dollars) in damages. Her lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, considered this decision a victory.
The court also awarded the hotel 50,000 euros (57,741 dollars) in damages and paid 1 euro to Simon Berter, Kardashian's stylist who was present during the robbery.
Two of the robbers, who were dressed as police officers, entered Kardashian's room, bound her with chains and tape, and stole over 6 million dollars in jewelry, including a diamond ring she wore to a show that night. Due to the age of the robbers, they were referred to in France as "les papy braqueurs" or grandpa robbers. Six of them were in their 60s and 70s at the time of the trial.
Given the time before the trial, none of them returned to prison after the trial, and none appealed the issued ruling.
Kardashian expressed gratitude in a statement released after the ruling, saying she is deeply thankful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case. She added: "This crime was the most terrifying experience of my life and has had a lasting impact on me and my family. While I will never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability, and I pray for healing for all. I am committed to promoting justice and supporting a fair legal system."
