Owain Davis, a 55-year-old British billionaire businessman, is one of three people who lost their lives in the crash of a small plane in the Swiss Alps this week. The incident occurred when the plane crashed into a mountainside about ten minutes after takeoff, killing all on board.

Emergency services were alerted after reports of smoke in the area on Tuesday morning. Davis was the CEO of a company founded by his father, Spencer Davis OBE, in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire. The other two individuals, including another Briton, have not yet been identified.

Family Memories
Aaron Davis, one of Owain's sons, described his father as "a teacher throughout my life" and added that he was "a true character." He said, "I am very proud of everything he achieved, but even prouder that he was my father."
The Davis family stated that they are facing an unimaginable loss and are very grateful for the love and support they have received. Owain Davis had two other sons named Fionn and Aaron and was married to Michelle. He was an experienced pilot, but it is still unclear whether he was flying at the time of the crash.
The company Amcanou paid tribute to Davis in a statement, saying, "Family was always at the center of his life." The statement described him as someone "with determination, passion, resolve, and deep compassion." They also noted his love for his grandchildren, Oakley and Albie.
Davis was also known as a "proud Welshman and Welsh spokesperson" and had served as a trustee for the Welsh air ambulance services. Dr. Kyle Jacques, one of his colleagues, stated, "Owain was a valued colleague and friend whose loyalty and generous spirit meant so much to us. He will be greatly missed."
The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed, and the Swiss Transport Board has begun its investigation. The Valais police and the public prosecutor's office have also launched criminal investigations following the incident.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has stated that it is providing support to the families of the two British citizens who died in Switzerland and is in contact with local authorities. They said in a statement, "Our thoughts are with the families at this difficult time."
