Congressional Republicans have not held any sessions to examine the Iran war, which continues under Donald Trump (Donald Trump). This war has lasted over 200 days and costs have reached $246 million per day. At least 18 American soldiers have lost their lives and more than 750 have been injured.

While Democrats have made urgent requests for transparency on this matter, Republicans have not held any sessions to question government officials and military commanders about the rising costs and exit plans. Gregory Meeks, the senior Democratic representative on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has stated that the Republican majority has "abandoned the committee's basic oversight responsibilities."

Comparison to the Benghazi Attack
The absence of public sessions in Congress is notable compared to the intense congressional investigations into the attack on an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012. This attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, and Congress held at least 22 hearings on the matter.
No congressional investigation has been initiated following Trump's attacks in Iran. While internal investigations at the Pentagon appear to have concluded after a deadly attack on a girls' school, military officials have dismissed any further investigations into civilian casualties.
However, the United Nations has stated that two American airstrikes in February, which resulted in the deaths of at least 178 civilians, including dozens of children, may constitute war crimes.
Unimaginable Costs
A new report from the Congressional Budget Office indicates that the costs of the Iran war have reached about $38 billion, and it is expected that an additional $2 to $3 billion will be added to these costs each month. More than half of these costs are due to the replacement of missiles and other munitions.
The war has also destroyed up to two-thirds of the country’s defensive missile stockpiles, and rebuilding these stockpiles may take at least five years. Adam Smith, a Democratic representative, emphasized that this report illustrates the enormous human and financial costs.
