Reactions to Vance's Request

Vance's request was quickly mocked. Social media users, comedians, and Democratic politicians particularly highlighted the phrase 'another chance.' House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wrote in his post: 'Vance to America: Republicans have failed, but give us another chance.' He added, 'Vance, step aside. This time for MAGA extremism is over.'

Journalist Philip DeFranco pointed out the moment when Vance criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. He wrote: 'JD Vance's energy shifted from 'Have you ever said thank you?' to 'Guys... you need to give us another chance' very quickly.'

Dissatisfaction with Republican Performance

Others continued their criticisms. Mike Drucker, a writer and comedian, responded to Vance's remarks by writing: 'No advertisement is better than having complete government power for two full years and then saying, 'Yes, yes, we messed everything up, but give us more time!'

These criticisms from Vance come at a time when polls show voters are dissatisfied with President Donald Trump's handling of the economy and his performance as Commander-in-Chief. With only two months left until the midterm elections, this situation has put additional pressure on Republicans.

An Ipsos poll shows that 49 percent of respondents strongly criticized Trump's management, while only 15 percent strongly supported him. Additionally, 50 percent of respondents strongly criticized Trump's handling of the economy, and only 11 percent strongly supported him. This poll was conducted between September 11 and 14 with 1,143 participants.

In response to these remarks, Kamala Harris, the former Vice President, also made a sharp comment on her Gen-Z account on X, stating: 'JD Vance is asking for midterm votes.'

The Oversight Democrats account on X also responded to Vance's request by referencing the Trump administration's performance: 'Republicans were unable to cut costs, drain the swamp, or release all Epstein files, so they went home early. Now their pitch is 'give us another chance.'
